Very high alert’s key points
- You must not meet socially indoors with anybody you do not live with, or who is not in your support bubble, this includes private gardens
- Hospitality settings, such as bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants must remain closed – they are permitted to offer takeaway, click-and-collect, drive-through or delivery services
- Indoor entertainment and tourist venues must close
- You must not socialise in a group of more than six in outdoor public spaces, including parks
- Excluding certain exemptions hotels, B&Bs, campsites, and guest houses must close.
Changes for all alert levels
The following will apply in all tiers:
- Shops, gyms and personal care services will all reopen
- Collective worship, weddings and outdoor sports can resume (although wedding receptions are banned in tier three)
- People will no longer be limited to seeing one other person outdoors
- The rule of six will apply in outdoor public spaces
- Non-essential foreign travel allowed, subject to quarantine rules
